No, I didn't make these last night. I got to attend my very first pre-natal childbirth preparation class...so, while I learned all about the signs of labor and mucus plugs and lots of other fun biological-ness, there was a part of my mind drifting off to the wonders of wax, and what I created over the past week. So, I decided right then and there that I needed to share these. Who says a gal can't multitask!
I had created the pen and ink drawing for this first one at a workshop I gave in December, though I never got to "do" anything with it then. So, I decided to go minimalist and keep it simple so the wood grain really shines. And the green and turquoise. Yeah, just a BIT in love with those two colors.

This piece has A LOT of wax built up on it. I was playing around with a new texture technique - and I dig it! It really gives the appearance of old paint on a buliding - something like that. Either way, it has even more lime green (yum) and orange and even a bit of pink! One thing my paintings will never be is bland in color!
Well, this weekend involves a baby shower for another expecting lady, dinner at a friends house, cleaning, and even more art making with wax! I hope your weekend is just as eventful and fun!
