Wax on Wax off

I had my first Beeswax Collage class since having the baby in April...and it went great! I was really nervous about leaving poor Hazel for all that time, teaching the first class, forgetting something or some supplies...but it all went smoothly, the students had fun, I had fun, and Hazel enjoyed some good bonding time with her daddy...so yay!

I've actually been getting a few hours hear and there to MAKE art as well, and this is just a small one I recently finished during one of my "art hours". I will be back to selling my art at local events in June, but for right now...it's going to be just some more classes and baby time!

Speaking of baby...she's cooing to me from the bedroom....gotta go!

An Early Mother's Day Present

THIS is actual art that I made while being the mother of a two week old baby....she is currently 3 weeks old now though. She slept in my sling while I got to finish carving a woodblock, and then even slept through me printing a few test runs!!! I was amazed.
Of course, she hasn't let me do it since. I tried yesterday and had to enjoy her screaming as I stopped walked and tried to get something done. So, we went on a walk instead. We're beginning to think we have been blessed with either colic or a food allergy, so quiet time is at a premium right now in the afternoons/evenings. But this was a joyous afternoon getting this done...lemme tell you!

Here's the sleeping beauty during our adventures!
